East Lyme High School is the second highest ranked public high school in New London County, Connecticut. The school is situated in East Lyme however students from Salem also attend the school. There are approximately 1,300 students enrolled at the school with a student to teacher ratio of 15:1. As well as consistently achieving very high scores in all state and national examinations, the school has a rich and successful athletic history. Some of the athletics teams are amongst the best in the state, particularly in football, swimming, volleyball and cheerleading. The school’s marching band was once one of the best known high school marching bands in the country. Many students have gone on to attend some of the most prestigious colleges in the nation after graduation.
East Lyme High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school offering curricular and co-curricular programs to 1,300 students in grades nine – twelve. Accredited through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the school offers an extensive range of courses in college and career preparation.
East Lyme High School employs six school counselors, two school psychologists and 122 faculty.
East Lyme High School is located in a residential community of 16,000 with students residing in the towns of East Lyme, Niantic and Salem. Located in New London County along the shoreline, the school is equidistant from New Haven and Providence, RI and is easily accessible via Interstate 95.
East Lyme High School participates in partnership programs with Connecticut College, the University of Connecticut and Three Rivers Community College. Students also have an opportunity to take virtual courses through the Virtual High School program.
